Dog and cat licenses are now available at
the city clerk’s office. Fees are $6.00
for a neutered animal, and $12.00 for an unaltered animal. A current rabies certificate is necessary to
obtain the license.
PLEASE BE REMINDED, all fees double June
1. Each year the city clerk’s office has
licenses available for dogs until June 1. After June 1, dog licenses must be purchased
at the Marquette County Treasurer’s office for the remainder of the year. Cat licenses are sold at the city clerk’s office
all year. The cost for a dog or cat
license after June 1 is $12.00 for a neutered animal, and $24.00 if the animal
is unaltered. Licenses are required by
law for all dogs and cats whether they leave the house or not.
ALSO REMEMBER YOU CAN BE TICKETED AND FINED
for letting animals run loose and/or for not cleaning up after them (civil
infractions.) Please take the time to
leash and clean up after your pet, and help keep our city beautiful.
