Bibbity Bobbity Bootcamp

Calling all Princesses & their Fairy God Mothers!  Join us for walking like a princess, princess dance, magic wand making, proper tea table manners & upon training receive a personal sash & tiara!!!

Ballroom Basics for Youth

Offering basic ballroom instruction in the Waltz, Rhumba, Cha Cha, Salsa, Tango, Pasadoble, and West Coast Swing.

Dates/Time: Wednesdays from 7:00pm-8:30pm on  July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and August 6

Ballroom Basics for Adults

Offering basic ballroom instruction in the Waltz, Rhumba, Cha Cha, Salsa, Tango, Pasadoble, and West Coast Swing.

Body Grooves: African Drumming, Dancing, and Singing Performance/Workshop

A Boston-based percussion, dance, and vocal company with roots in traditional World and classical performing arts, covering styles of Afro-Caribbean to jazz and ballet. In this seminar, you will learn basic to advanced elements of Ghanaian and Senegalese drumming, dancing, and singing, which are social, vivacious fun! These art forms are accessible to all ages and musical backgrounds. Just bring your heart and soul and let the rhythm move you!

This is in two sessions. You can attend one or both.

Gentle Self Care Yoga

Better yourself by getting a well-rounded introduction to the practice and philosophies of yoga so you can then  incorporate them into your daily life.

First You See Then You Draw

Drawing a straight line is not the first step. First, you learn to see, then you learn to record your personal observations on paper. Most of us are not going to be great artists but appreciation of art begins with understanding the process and applying it to your own world.

Dates/Times: Thursdays from 10:00am-12:00pm July  24 & 31 and August 7, 14, 21 & 28

Lab Fee: Bring something to draw with and a 12”x16” drawing pad or larger.

Beginning Spanish

The student will use vocabulary and learn to express the basic needs and desires such as: greetings, directions, questions and answers, colors, parts of the body, alphabet, and much more!

Children will learn basic Spanish through games, songs, puppet shows and all kinds of arts.

Intro to Mosaics with Stained Glass and Found Object

In this introductory workshop students will learn basics of making mosaics.  Students are responsible for picking and bringing the object in which they would like to do their mosaic on.  Some examples include, flower pots, mirrors, small foot benches, garden stepping stone, or small lamp base.  Each student will be provided with the necessary supplies to construct their own mosaic. However, students are encouraged to bring in any special objects they would like to incorporate into the mosaic (such as stones, pieces of a broken dish, old jewelry, and more.)

Stage Combat Class

Instructor:  Orion Couling

Registration:  Free!!  **Limited to 30**

Swashbucklers needed!!!  Each group of young people will learn basic cutlass and hand to hand stage combat along with pirate terminology, character work and character movement.  If you’ve always wanted to be a pirate now’s your time to fight like one!!!!

Ages:  6-10     Dates/Times:  Mon. Aug 11th & 12th 10am-12pm

Ages:  11-18   Dates/ Times:  Mon Aug 11th & 12th    1pm-3pm

Imagination Circus

Instructor: Gale LaJoye

Dates/Times: Full Week: July 28th-August 1st 

Performance August 1st at 7:00pm

(Peter White Public library Community Room).

Fees: Free!!!!!       **Limited to 20 Youth ages 8-15**

Youth find junk/props on stage & create a short story that  will be performed to the accompaniment of project images and percussion.  Parents are encouraged to be a part of the

Circus by painting, construction of props etc….

 

Piano and Voice Lessons

Individual voice lessons tuned to the student’s choice of music.  Serious students only please.  Students may have to purchase their own sheet music.  Lessons available in 1/2 hr. sessions.  Classes run for 8 weeks.

Fused Glass Tile

Create your own glass 6”x6” tile while learning the basics of glass fusing.  No glass cutting experience required.

Toddler Craft Time

A different fun and unique craft for toddlers and parents every week!

Dates/Times: Every Wednesday from 1:00-2:00pm in the Art Center starts June 18th through August 27th!  

FREE!!! No registration or lab fees!

 

 

 

Registration is complete only when accompanied by full payment and a space is reserved. Waiting Lists will be started once a class has reached maximum enrollment. Please do not wait until the last minute to register, classes fill quickly!

 

Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment by the deadline may be cancelled. If a class is cancelled, you may transfer to another class or request a full refund. No refunds will be issued for participants canceling after the deadline date.

 

Registrations may be accepted beyond the deadline date if the class has openings.

 

Inclement weather or instructor illness may force cancellation of classes. If in doubt, please call the Arts Center. A make-up class will be offered.
