Body Grooves:
African Drumming, Dancing, and Singing Performance/Workshop
A Boston-based percussion, dance, and
vocal company with roots in traditional World and classical performing arts,
covering styles of Afro-Caribbean to jazz and ballet. In this seminar, you will learn
basic to advanced elements of Ghanaian and Senegalese drumming, dancing, and
singing, which are social, vivacious fun! These art forms are accessible to all
ages and musical backgrounds. Just bring your heart and soul and let the rhythm
move you!
This is in two sessions. You can attend one or both.

Drawing a straight line is not the first step. First, you learn to see, then you learn to record your personal observations on

Intro to Mosaics with Stained Glass and Found Object
In this introductory
workshop students will learn basics of making mosaics. Students are responsible for picking and
bringing the object in which they would like to do their mosaic on. Some examples include, flower pots, mirrors,
small foot benches, garden stepping stone, or small lamp base. Each student will be provided with the
necessary supplies to construct their own mosaic. However, students are
encouraged to bring in any special objects they would like to incorporate into
the mosaic (such as stones, pieces of a broken dish, old jewelry, and more.)
