Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Advisory Board

The Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Advisory Board was established on April 19, 1977 under the provisions of an agreement between the City of Marquette and the Townships of Marquette and Chocolay. A subsequent agreement was signed by all parties on May 31, 1983. The board's responsibility is to oversee the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in accordance with the provisions of the agreement. The board meets the third Thursday of each month at 1:30 pm in either room 103 of city hall, Chocolay Township Hall, Marquette Township Hall, or the Wastewater Treatment Plant (see meeting schedule below). The board has five members serving three year terms. Three of the five members are appointed by the city commission with each township appointing one member each. The governing body of each local unit may also appoint up to two alternate board members for each board member it appoints. The term of office of each alternate will coincide with the terms of office of board members.
