Downtown Development Authority
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was established under the provisions of Act 197, Public Acts of Michigan of 1975 and ratified by Marquette City Ordinance Number 298; 1976. The DDA is responsible for the planning and implementation of economic development, historic preservation, and prevention of deterioration in the downtown business district. Powers, duties and procedures are set by state law. The DDA meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 am in room 103 of city hall. The DDA has nine members, of which eight serve four year terms, with the ninth member serving an indefinite period by virtue of position as city manager.
