The Brownfield Redevelopment Financing Authority (BRFA) was established by the City Commission on September 8, 1997. The BRFA is organized and incorporated as authorized by and pursuant to Act 381. The purpose for which the BRFA is created is to, among other things, facilitate the implementation of brownfield plans relating to the designation and treatment of brownfield redevelopment zones; to promote the revitalization of environmental distressed areas and, subject to such limitations and conditions as are or may be prescribed by law, exercise such other powers as may be conferred upon the BRFA. The board shall consist of seven directors. Directors shall serve thee year terms. Meetings of the BFRA will be called by the chair. The Board meets the second Monday of each month at 3:00 pm in Room 103 of City Hall.
